quick visit under my suspended wooden floor. How much?

I need a man (or woman!) who can, to go down a service hatch and crawl under my wooden floor for a distance of around 15ft so I can get the end of an aerial cable fed up through the floor behind the tv.
I'm a practical sort and can do most things but I tried this and panicked and had to get out pronto. I cant face going under there again.
Would a handyman type do this maybe? If I got an aerial installer out I'm sure it would cost me loads.
Alternatively, any idea how else I could get it down, under, along and up without me going under myself?
It's kinda like a 'U's shape.......down through the floor......along the space underneath and up the other side...(although the other side is already in place).
I've spent all morning 'gee-ing' myself up and I still can't.

Just find a young lad to do it for a quid. He'll probably get excited about it.

OMG! £65! Believe me sparky....I have tried but this must be my achilles (sp?) heel.

Good idea about the car AL Mac...problem is there is only a cable size hole at the other end so I cant reach down and pull it up iyswim.
I could push cable down and tape the new cable to it to pull it up but I'm 15ft away from the hole so cant access anything to tape anything.

Good morning: Buy a suitable length of flexible plastic pipe at your local plumbers' merchant, feed it under the floor, then feed the aerial cable through to the other end.

Buy youself some cable access rods - Screwfix do them
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/82483/Electrical/Electricians-Tools/Cable-Access/Cable-Access-10m
then you will not have to go under the floor!!0 -
I'm so frustrated, I almost had it. I taped 2 extending poles together (the kind you use on a paint roller for high ceilings) and screwed a hook on the end. I then taped the kitchen broom to all that.
I pushed a cable down the hole and fed the long poles down the service hatch. I managed after about an hour, to hook it and pull it towards me.
I then cut the cable back to the copper wire, twisted the ends together and wrapped it in duct tape. Back to the first hole to pull the cable through and the thing got stuck when it came to the tape and it wouldn't move up or go back down. Then the cable pulled off leaving the cable I was trying to pull through, stuck in the hole. I carefully started drilling beside it to make the hole larger but then the cable feel back through.
It's now sitting on the ground directly under the hole I want it to come up through and I'm sitting here, frustrated and in tears! More of frustration and annoyance than anything else.
Will look into cable access rods.Herman - MP for all!

Sorry aliasjo, don't have any ideas, but I love the ingenuity of this thread! So sorry, but I just have visions that in a week's time you'll have to pay sparky 883's company £65 to go down the void and recover: 2 extending poles joined with some duct tape and copper wire, a remote control car and a small child :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Seriously though, good luck! I have a potentially water-filled void under my kitchen floor following a flood a couple of weeks back, so following your thread with great interest. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? For that you will need a small child & a straw

:rotfl: That made me laugh.
Deed is done. But not by me.
OH came home whilst I was in tears and went under the floor himself and pushed the cable up the hole. I'm even more fed up now.
(Very short explanation - He makes me feel like I'm a burden and doesn't give help willingly for anything so I no longer ask him for help as I'm fed up being made to feel a nuisance...you know the kind of thing....sigh/roll eyes to ceiling or say nothing but do it grudgingly and make it obvious? Asking for any kind of help = instant mood in our house. Years of this has taken it's toll and I'd rather cut off my right arm now than ask for his help.)
So, I have a cable, but not the way I wanted it.
Anyway, thanks for all your help and suggestions. I am still going to buy some cable access rods for future use, btw.Herman - MP for all!

Don't laugh, but a chap in our village has a FERRET that I know he's used for similar jobs......actually I'd get those cable rods; at least they don't bite!
