SWEB price freeze offer until 2008

Hi all and apologies if this has been asked previously (I've done a search but not found anything).

Anyway, with all the hoo ha going on warning of massive rises in gas and electric over the coming winter, we are wondering if the above offer would be worth going for? I don't know much about this sort of thing and would hate to sign up (or not) and get stung.

The leaflet says "Fixing your energy prices will cost just a little more than our standard variable rate, 58p a month for electricity or £2.50 a month for gas and electricity [based upon a typical residential gas and electricity customer. A typical residential customer has an average annual consumption of 3,300kWh for electricity and 20,500kWh for gas].

Would I be right in assuming that it depends on our usage as to whether this is a good deal or not? We don't have central heating and rely on two flame effect gas fires, one electric heater and two electric radiators.

I made a post about the same offer from London Energy (same group as Sweb).

Are you on their online dual fuel tariff? My concern is that the offer requires you to move onto their more expensive standard tariff + the price freeze premium. Therefore bills will go up quite a bit and might only be a good deal for standard tariff customers.
