hi
i have a camcorder that records video in mpeg-4 and have found i cannot play any of these files with windows media player, and the only media player that will play the files i apple's quicktime (which was bundled with the software),
what i want to do is butn my videos to a dvd, but nero 8 wont support this file type, so i am thinking that it would be best to convert the files to a more popular file type like .avi or .wma
does anyone know of any free (not trial version) conversioin software i can use,
thanks
baron

Use MediaInfo to identify the particular type of MPEG4 file in use.
Either way, you should have more luck with DVDFlick
As for a codec for use in order to be able to play the files in WMP; Nic's XviD Codec.
If you still need to convert: MediaCoder.0 -
You can convert media files for free with 3gp Converter which should sort it. I use it the other way round to make files MP4 for Ipod.0

Nero Showtime should play these files - Nero Recode actually converts DVD's to MP4 format anyway
Why not try downloading VLC Media Player as that pretty much plays everything?

You can often rename the file extension to .avi with success......
As for burning the files to be played back on a DVD player you need to use Nero Vision - hope that helps a bit more0
