Is this bill too LOW from Npower?

I have had problems with Npower. I Signed up to their Sign Online 8 tariff last October and it was set up in November on a monthly direct debit of £65 (which was about £5 less than my previous supplier). They failed to take the direct debit until January and then sent me my first bill in May which was £905! I owed them about £645, so they upped my direct debit to £187. I noticed that the tariff was Standard Meter, so I emailed them and told them that I thought I was on the wrong tariff. Got an email saying they had my query and it was being investigated. I then never heard from them for a couple of months (went on holiday for a few weeks). Came back and gave them a call and was told they were still looking into it, and they gave me a deadline of a further two months to sort it. In the meantime, I was worried I was missing the boat in terms of getting a good deal, or capping, but did not want to leave them unless they did not give my query their best attention.
After they missed their deadline I called them again and was told that they had nearly sorted it and that it should be in my favour. Then today I got a bill. This covers the whole period 19 November to 6 August, and it says Standard Sign Online 8 tariff, and they have charged me 24.460p for the first 522 units, then 5.37p for the rest for the whole of the period, with no fluctuations for any movement in the tariff for increases. I am now £215 in credit with them. Surely this is too low?
The annual equivalent charge would be £863, but uswitch is telling me British Gas is the cheapest at £1192, a saving of £420 according to uswitch.
What should I do? Let them know they have got it wrong again or bail out now and see if they give me the credit they say they owe me. Or maybe I should stay on their fantastic tariff!!

You say they have given you a new bill covering the period Nov to Aug, you need to check that the August reading is not an estimate and if it is does it look right compared to your reading today. If the reading is inline and you have a bill which you have paid I think they would have great difficulty in trying to claim any more money for that period especially given that is has taken several months to calculate the revised bill.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Hi
I signed up with npower sol 8 in october last year.
I selected paperless billing but never where able to view my bill on line and still can't.
I requested a paper bill from them which arrived after a week.
I noticed that the prices went up recently.
My question is that I believe that the sol 8 prices where protected and should not go up for a year or so but can't find any proof of that.
Can anyone help me out?
Regards
Rogro0
