I have just gone into my third year and have to submit the outline of my dissertation in 3 weeks. Trouble is I am awful at thinking up titles/ topics can some one give me some suggestions? I am studying cultural studies and sociology and after graduation I want to apply for MA social work. Any ideas or suggestions?

What are you interested in? Is there anything from past modules that really grabbed you? You need to think of all the topics that interest you and then try to narrow it down to something in particular. Once you have that, the title doesn't need to be anything fancy, just something that gets the point of the work across.0

have you thought about exploring child protection social work from a class perspective. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Don't know as it's not my area. But I know a friend did essays that were case studies of people with addictions eg drugs, alcohol. I thought that sounded quite interesting.
Get an A3 piece of paper, or even bigger and make a brainstorm of different things you've learnt about which you found interesting and see where it goes. Jot down any question ideas on there as well as you'll probably come up with some.
Once you've got your subject area narrowed down, come up with a basic 'research question'. This might be all you need for the outline, but after that what's important to ask yourself is what exactly you're trying to find out, and then adapt the question as you do more research.0 -

Check out the Institute of Science and Ethics at Manchester Uni, in the law department. A professor there has published a book on this kind of thing. It is quite fun, and makes you think. (There is a link to a radio programme where he talks about his ideas, and that would be a good and relaxing way to start.)0
