I second the adipose pattern: http://community.livejournal.com/crafty_tardis/89662.html
Have got my mom all the stuff to make one for my 9 year old who is dr who mad - have also asked her to use her creative skills to make a cushion cover & a pillow case cover out of it - oooo, they'd also probably make good bean bags if you make one big enough!

Great Idea about making the adipose into bean bags... I might just try that, I've got the stuff to make the little ones for my 2 but thats such a great idea.

    Thanks

Where's the Coffee?? Show me the Coffee NOW!!
  • Guys these are all great ideas, thank you so much! He does like baking (what boy doen't like getting covered in gunk?) and a baking hamper sounds great. I might just have to have a go at the firefly jar, because it is sooooo cute! He is one of those kids who have everything, and every idea I've come up with so far he has either got, is getting or isn't right. He loves computer games, and I would love to make one of the cool cases for the DS, but he has got two cases already! I had thought that as he likes hillwalking with his uncle I could do him a survival hamper, all camouflage and survival food and bits and bobs, but apparently he even has all sorts of that stuff too!
He loves reading, but mainly non fiction, and of course all this is not forgetting that to him all interests are there to be taken up only in the dire event of not being allowed to play his computer games! He would even prefer to play them than go out to play with his friends!
I'm on a tight budget and you see my problem!! So thanks once again for all your great suggestions.
