Asda SP Branflakes 750g 71p and taste as good as Kelloggs!

Lidl black label coffee (sorry can't remember the actual name but it has a black lid too) is just over a £1 and tastes great!

    If anyone's interested........

Kenco is on offer for £1.72 for the standard size jar in Sainsbury's.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D
  • If anyone is interested there is quite a large thread on the old style board called ' what value things have you tried and liked'. Obviously its only individual posters own opinions but it gives a good indication of whats worth trying and what to give a wide berth to!

  • a slightly random question :o - but as I tend to buy UHT semi-skim milk for sake of convenience, I have often wondered if Aldi would be any cheaper than Tesco?

    Tesco (own brand) is £3.55 for x 6 1litre.

I keep meaning to try Aldi for shopping - bit of a drive there though - but this would be an incentive if one of my staples would mean a big saving.
  • Aldi's UHT is usually around the 45p/50p a litre mark which would mean a saving for you. Have used it when we've been away in the caravan and it tasted okay on breakfast cereals as well as in tea, etc.

thanks very much for that - I usually stock up for the month at a time so that would be a good saving :D Will be off to Aldi.

We've got used to the UHT taste and it's fine, it's just so much more convenient and saves hassle of running out at breakfast time!
  • in asda today i bought a jar of extra special korma sauce for £0.70 - less than half-price. i though it was a mistake but it rang up as 70p on the self-check out. i'm going back tomorrow for more!

Checked the prices when I was in Aldi & Lidl this morning, both are selling 1 litre packs at 64p for Semi Skimmed & 45p for Skimmed. So you would be better sticking with Tesco currently. Sorry for getting your hopes up!
  • Recommend:

    Laundry stuff/cleaning:
Asda biological (small box is around 50p) - good for non delicate things
Morrisons biological liquid wash - couple of quid (can't remember but great smell on clothes)
Asda 5 in 1 (might give Lidl a go)
    Lidl window cleaner

    Loo roll:
Nicky (found this in Farm Stores £2 for 9)
    Or Asda shades

    Frozen:
Asda roast potatoes 69p (lazy I know but great for a weekday roast)
    Asda cabbage (can't remember price)

    Soft drinks:
    Asda cream soda 44p (sugarless)

    Ham:
    Lidl (red packet)

    Sauces/rice:
    Asda ketchup
Lidl instant rice (like Uncle Bens)

Amazed how much non-branded stuff I buy.

Thanks again! There's a good chance Tesco might have put their prices up as well - so I'll check first. Really appreciate your help :A
