Smartprice pilchards in tomato sauce - really good at 14p a tin. Also tesco value teabags, 26p for 80.
The OH has also found that asda smartprice face wipes (about 40p a pack) are no different to the £2 a pack "Simple" and "Johnson and Johnson" brand ones...
Value bog roll is, pardon the pun, !!!!...0 -
I always buy smartprice or equivalent ,....pasta,rice and tomatoes and potatoes too
Own brand babywipes and nappies are usually fine as well
Lidls tomato sauce and brown sauce are fine
I always buy own brand washing powder (or smartprice) unless one of the brand names has a good offer on.Currently using Formil from Lidl and it is better than some brand names I have tried:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -

Rice Pudding - Value brand everywhere is pretty much the same ingredients
Wheatabix - Good god ASDA Own brand is exactly the same nutrition/ingredients to the TENTH DECIMAL!!
Fruit/Veg - Class II = Class I
Bread = Cheapest bread 40p per loaf --> Value flour 33p/1,5kg~4 loafs (initial investment of loafing tin = £3)
Peanut Butter = Waitroses Own is the best (80p) although Tescos (55p) is good best value was ASDAs organic (60p)Buy for value not cost.
Feb Grocery = £55.87 / 800 -
I don't buy cheap bread, have tried own brands etc, only get Roberts, Warburtons etc, Roberts is the preference for normal white bread. If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0

Sainsburys full roast coffee, tastes the same as nescafe (Just put it in nescafe jar to fool partner!!! (£1.18 per 200g)
Sainsburys basic shower gel (10p but very thick so can be watered down!!)
Sainsburys Basic conditioner (27p) My partners daughter has very sensitive skin but has no probs with shower gel or conditioner
Sainsburys basic lasagne sheets (32p)
Sainsburys basic fruit and veg...all tastes great just different shapes and sizes
Sainsburys own brand brown sauce (not basic) is supposed to be lovely (I don't eat it but rest of family love it, down graded from H.P)
Sainsburys basic tinned tomatoes
Lidl dishwasher tablets W5 5 in one are the best dishwasher tablet ever, the only tablet that I have ever used that has got everything clean first time (and i'm lazy not rinsing things first!!) £2.99 for a box of 40 and I cut them in half if not a mega dirty load!!!
