Egg card cashback swindle

I am an unhappy soon to be ex Egg card customer. As a rate tart and good boy who always eats his greens, and always pays of his credit card in full, I was sad when the cashback dropped to 0.1%. Still, at my spend this meant around £10 a year back. So... September rolls around and I have been quite frugal this year, only £8.71 due back - except it doesn't arrive, either on my credit card or in my bank.
It turns out that in the terms and conditions there is a clause which says "if the cashback total is less than £10 in a year, it will not be paid into your account".
I emailed and asked what had happened to it, and got a short reply saying "that's what it says in the T's and C's" (my paraphrasing, but NO apology and barely more words than I have written here)
So - I shall now be ditching my Bad Egg card and looking for one suited to my spend, which I have just worked out is £8,710 over the past year - not earth shattering but good business. As I replied to Egg, it saddens me that a card I championed five years ago has fallen so low.

Can you clarify - is this the ordinary Egg card? Or the Egg Money card? It appears that Egg money still offers 1% cashback.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks YB - I couldn't find any trace of the cashback dropping on the Egg Money - I assume that it is the ordinary Egg card that the OP has then.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

You could always read the T&C's...Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
Not sad enough, and untrusting of special deals (like "extra accounts which cost money for benefits you never use). I now know better to read all the small print and look on MSE to find out what it all means. As I pointed out to Egg, most people to my knowledge (me and many friends) don't read T's &C's until too late, when we are bitten by them. My research now has shown that Egg Money may still be a good bye, but my plain old Egg card is now a goodbye!
Thanks for all the supportive comments to a newbie on this forum0 -

Thanks for reminding me about the Egg money cashback - I had completely forgotten about this.
I initially took this card out to use for stoozing, but now I have paid off the mortgage, my need has lessened.
Morgan Stanley were bought out by Barclaycard so my favourite cashback card has gone and its handy for getting cashback on work expenses. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Yes: I was caught out by this. When I learned that Egg Money was paying one per cent, I confused it with my Egg card and used the latter to pay for an entire business trip to China! The kind of mistake that happens when we fail to read the T and Cs.0

The cashback not being applied to your account refers to the external account you pay your Direct Debit from. If it is under £10 it will be added to the balance of your card.0

......forgot you mentioned it wasn't on your card account, check next week.
If i were you I'd look Tuesday morning - just a wild stab in the dark mind!0
