PC to TV - HDMI with Audio Possible?

Hey hey.
Got a PC with multiple monitor outputs. I have a nice VGA to HDMI cable which allows me to use my Samsung LCD TV as a monitor.
Unfortunately this doesn't transmit sound of course. I bought a stereo to phono lead and plugged that into the TV, but I can't get the phono inputs on the TV to work with the HDMI input. They simply use 2 seperate channels.
Does anyone know of an all in one cable that would go from the VGA and sound outputs from my PC, to HDMI... (That isn't of course too expensive!). Or is it possible to set up the graphics card to also act as a sound card for HDMI output (longshot I know but it is an nvidia 8600 GTS..)
Thanks guys

OK I'll say this just because you mentioned a Samsung TV. Mine has a sound input for when the VGA is in use, but it's not phonos, it's a 3.5mm minijack (or a headphone plug, or the plug at the computer end). Have a look round the back of the tv and see if you can see this connector, that's the only input that will be active with VGA.

Just wanted to say I didn't nick your avatar .. hehe ... erm dunno, although for what it's worth I had problems with splitting the sound card output to two as I didn't get true stereo out of both sets of speakers for some reason so ended up getting a new motherboard which can pick up the sound as well and has got a HDMI socket on it ... http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132274
It's a bit of a pain in a way cos you have to go into the sound properties to select the HDMI sound output .. and you always have to restart the media player to get it to pick up the changed sound output which is all a bit inconvenient for anything more than the occasional things.0 -
An ATI graphics card is the way forward if you really must have HDMI with audio. The 4670 card with HDMI built in & 7.1 audio for £50 for example, or if you aren't a gamer, the sapphire 2400pro with hdmi & 5.1 channel sound for about £250

All interesting thanks
I'm looking for a cable with an HDMI end, and the other end is VGA AND Stereo I guess.... The HDMI end for the TV and the other end (DVI/VGA with the sound) for the computer.
I'd prefer not buying a new graphics card but not sure.
I'm assuming almillar, that you mean when using VGA as an output device on the TV? I'm using an HDMI port and would like to use stereo with that, though it doesn't seem to be working!

How about a VGA cable between my PC and the TV and then a stereo lead for the sound output?
Will VGA transmit 1080p to the TV?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

yep vga will transmit 1080p, (in fact 1080p resoultion is not that high compared to some graphics card will do)
You could geta hdmi graphics card (thats what i got/use) the computer is in the living room (looks like an amp) and is connected to the living room tv and dining room tv (both via hdmi and both 42" lcds) I have a blue tooth keyboard & mouse.
I did have to purchase a hdmi splitter cable (split one source to 2 outputs, one output is 1m away the other is 13m away)
Works great, and sounds goes through hdmi perfectly.0
