I range Yorkshire Water on Saturday to report a water leak which was running across my drive and the pavement, first off it was a free call and then it was a real person who was really helpful and knew what she was talking about.

Next, and I am amazed by this, they had fixed it by half one this afternoon (Monday)! Apparently they came to inspect it on Sunday morning (leak was traced to a neighbours property so they didn't need to bother me) and then came to repair it the day after.

We hear a lot (around here anyway) about the water companies letting leaks run and not keeping up with repairs but they did a brilliant job on this, I will be ringing them up tomorrow to let them know what a great job they did.

I feel a bit foolish cos I was saying to the girl on Saturday about how dangerous it would be if they didn't repair quickly and it got icy with the water running across the pavement, about how I'm pregnant and how theres lots of OAPs live around here and have to walk past to get to the shop, all true but I was laying it on a bit thick so that they got on with it!
