Help with new netbook

Just bought an Acer one netbook this evening but cant get my vodafone wireless dongle to connect to it. There is nothing in the hand book and I am stuck- not very good at anything technical.

When I used to work with these Voda 3Gs they were very fussy about installing the software from the CD first, BEFORE attaching the 3G card. I think within the setup there is a point where it asks you to attach. That may help, it's been a while since I did this
