should i go back to british gas, your advice needed
Options
i am currently with southern electric and with the news over the past couple of months about price rises on gas and electric, i am worried that in a few months i could be paying 30% more, so i a thinking about going with a company that offers a price freeze,
British gas knocked at the door today offering to freeze me gas and electric for 4 years,
i know if i leave British gas in the four year period i will be charged £70,
but my dilemma is, do i stay with the company i am with or sign up to the British gas offer,
any advice would be much appreciated

There have been scores of posts on the merits/demerits of capped tariffs on this section, I suggest you have a look.
There is a thread currently running on the BG 2012 fixed tariff. You pay quite a hefty premium to go on this tariff and the concensus of opinion is that it is not a very good deal.
All capped tariffs are a gamble. It is just that the odds are not considered attractive on the BG 2012 tariff.0 -

I hope they explained they will freeze them in return for you paying an immediate premium on the already crazily high (compared to their online tariff) standard tariff rates? Totally up to you, but personally, on principle, I would never sign up with any company that invaded my privacy like this.Call me Carmine....
