Window 'clicks' / 'taps' ???????? How to stop?

Only happens to one window in the house and its a normal double glazed UPVC with the black 'beading'.

Only thing is when the wind gets up a little and has been/is raining there appears to be this really annoying and irritating clicking/tapping noise coming from the window(narrowed it down to the top of the main window -near the black 'beading'-if thats what its called?? (not the two narrow windows that open at the very top)). and on one side mainly.
In the dead of the night it sounds quite loud.

When i gently push the black beading it clicks the same as if the wind was doing it-only when it has been raining or is raining.

Very strange thread i know, but if anyone knows what the heck i am going on about and has a possible solution then that would really be appreciated.

TIA:confused::confused:

  • Is it possible to squeeze or wipe some clear silicone in between the glass and the beading? Even some putty might do?

    Thanks for your suggestion, economiser. I guess there is no harm in trying, right?

    If anyone in the know could recommend some window friendly putty/silicone (or would it all be ok?), that would be great.

    Thanks
  • I would think any would do the job. Whatever you have to hand. I was going to suggest some transparent adhesive but that might be a problem if you ever need to take the glass out.
