Hi there, can anyone help me.
My boss is messing me about with my work hours and some weeks I hardly work at all. I am supposed to work 16hrs and so claim WTC.
I have two children under 16 I have applied for a new job but as yet have not heard anything. Would I be able to just leave my current job and claim IS while waiting to hear about new job without being penalised for it?

Are you a lone parent with children under 12? This is now the relevant age to be eligible to claim IS and if they are older than this you would have to claim JSA and might be sanctioned if you left a job voluntarily. Apologies if you're not a lone parent but I read your post that way.0
