Take sterling cash or spanish cash ?

Quick one... Going on hols soon to Spain. Should I change the Sterling cash in the UK or wait until I get to Spain ie. in which country do you get the best rate ?

In short, if u cannot get yourself a Nationwide Flexaccount(The best way to carry 'holiday money'), get yourself AMERICAN EXPRESS Sterling Travellers Cheques. Failing that, you will get a better exchange rate for £s, in general, in Spain than in the UK.
The LIVERPOOL VICTORIA credit card is another recommended manner of carrying travelling money.

I've found the rate may be a bit better in Spain, but hardly worth the bother of changing money out there.

I wouldn't bother with travellers cheques. I'd take some Euros, a credit card and cashpoint card.

Take a Nationwide card if you have one - they don't charge a fee. Other credit cards charge about 3% - but the rate they give a commercial one - normally better then the tourist one, so the 3% is more or less cancelled out.

I'm not sure of the cost of withdrawing cash from a machine, but there is normally a minimum charge of something like £1.50, so get your cash out in a one go.

Use the SAFE in your appartments. Just got back from Lanzarote and someone where we were staying has a break-in.

    Have a nice holiday :)

I'll have to disagree with Suzz's advice.

Taking 'all your cash out in one go' is not the best idea I have ever heard.
The Nationwide CC does charge a fee, so in some cases the Liverpool Victoria CC may be better value.
The Nationwide Debit or Cash card is the most cost effective manner to carry holiday cash.

Stick with the advice I've given and you'll be on the right track.
