I realise this must've have been asked a million times before, but the answer surely changes every few weeks.

I'm thinking of signing up to Scottish Power's Fixed Price Energy Dec 09. But with wholesale prices now falling, is a it a good idea to sign up to a fixed price tariff right now? There is a £50 get-out fee if you come off the tariff before December 09.

There appears to be this irritating polarising filter that often blinds companies to falling prices. They seem to only take notice and react when prices rise.
