I wonder if anyone could tell me whether Icesave and Kaupthing are owned by the same company. They both appear to be Icelandic and as one is rated best instant access and the other best cash ISA it would be useful to know so as to avoid putting all the eggs into the one basket.

No they are not owned by the same company.

They are both covered by the 35K protection (but it's more complex than that).

Can you provide a link to show they are owned by the same company. I didn't think this was the case as a long-time lurker, and google provides little evidence to support your claim.

This was a typo which I corrected quickly (at 2:29) and you then quoted on my old post at 2:30)

They are NOT the same company.
