Flea eggs in my dog

Hi There
About a month I put Bob Martins spot on my medium size dog cause she started scratching, but lately I have noticed flea eggs have come back and seen the odd flea. Would it be best to shampoo her first then repeat this with either Spot on or Frontline, any suggestions would be most helpful and thank you in advance.

Bob Martins is a waste of time, get a decent spot on (like Frontline) and do her again. There's no need to wash her first. Do it ASAP though, if you've seen a couple, there will be plenty more around that you haven't seen yet.

Thank you for your reply, yes I have used Frontline in the past, but even though you have to purchase it directly from the vets, it does last longer, and I would prefer to bath my dog every now and then, but she,s not very happy with water.

You don't have to buy Frontline from vets anymore, you can get it from the online pet pharmacies, or some of the bigger pet shops (like pets at home).

Bathing a dog isn't really going to help with fleas, especially not if there is already a fair population of them. You can still bath her after using spot-on, you just have to wait a couple of days after putting it on.

Just check the vet's price though. I found that I was cheaper than PAH for frontline and drontal! I'm not usually cheaper than the internet but I dont think those savings will last in the long term.

I agree with the above, frontline is definetely one of the best out there. We got our last lot from Pets at Home.

That's true, my vet is the same as the major online one's for Frontline, and only pennies more expensive for Drontal.

My Vet is slightly more expensive than Pets At Home (for frontline which is what we use), but pets at home is about 8 miles away (even though we live in the middle of the 2nd biggest city in the country!) and the vets is close, so we still tend to get it from the vets. Also if I get muddled as to what month he needs treatment, then the vet knows when I last bought some. (I know, I know, it would be easier just to put it in my diary!)

Which reminds me, his flea treatment, wormers, AND vaccinations are all due in October
