  • Can anyone tell me if there DVD trivia games worked - Madagascar and Shrek? It says inside that not all systems are compatible but you don't find this out til after you have ripped all the cellophane off it :rolleyes2 . Bit gutted actually as my DD really wanted to have a go of it and it looks pretty good inside :( . Have tried it on both the laptop and the dvd player and still nothing happening.

I have managed to get a squeezylove pillow for....wait for it......1.99 having just paid 8 quid in the sale at debenhams. Needless to say i will be making a swift trip to debenhams to return it. The HB was in Ellesmere Port and they didnt have many left...although they did have a shed load of the animal ones that go round your neck!!
    Happy shopping!
Other than that they had nowt.

With regard to HB store in the North East there is one in Cramlington and one in Whitley Bay but they are pretty tiny, not been to the one in Jarrow but it sounds good!
Im considering doing a tour of HBs.....

Have you tried making it multi regional by hacking it - not as bad as it sounds, just usually a case of pressing a few buttons on your remote

(Google your make and model of DVD and type in hack aswell
If you dont ask you dont get!!

Not according to their store finder  although there is one at Cramlington, and also Whitley Bay (or Whitely Bay as their storefinder describes it !)

I was at the Silverlink yesterday and I'm fairly certain a Home Bargains Store hadn't popped up from somewhere - unless they've taken over the "Instore" (which I think is part of Poundstretcher?) in which case I might not have noticed a change of sign.
Where exactly did you think there was one at the Silverlink ?

I bought Madagascar and can't play it properly on Matsui, Bush and other cheapo DVD players :(

It works for the first two questions and then goes bonkers, totally unplayable. I can't even give it to the charity shop in case some poor fool buys it and has the same problems with it :rotfl:

There is an excellent new HB in Workington now - if anyone fancies a trip up North!
Loads of U2 books last week. My best buy were two Angelina Ballerina magnetic sticker books for 99p and 49p -reduced from £9.99.
They had Mickey Mouse Barbies for £4.99.
    I could live in HB!

Lots of new stock of branded toys in our local HB yesterday! Chou Chou dolls (think it was the Love Me Chou Chou?) £9.99; Chou Chou wardrobe & chou chou bed - think these were both around £6 odd. Talking Bratz dolls - think they were £11.99. My First Guess Who - £3.99 - I paid £8.99 for it in Toys R us last month...

Now if I had some spare cash I'd be stocking up for next Xmas...

Ah ha! My mum was talking about a new shop that had opened and I suspected it was a new HB. Somewhere to visit next time I'm up in Maryport! :)
