  • Am so happy to hear about your OH - this must be such a wonderful weight off your mind. It also sounds like you are really dealing well with all your other issues. Best of luck for your work appointment on Friday. Please come back and let us all know how you get on.

    Best of luck
  • I'm so releived the news was good, I only read the post today and all the way down I was praying it was good news.

Walk into the interview with your head held high, although we dont know the circumstances as to why you were suspended there is no doubt in my mind that the stress you are under would have had something to do with it so please don't be ashamed to hand over the docs letter and explain everything.. Employers sometimes get a bad name, but many are compasionate and if you explain your personal situation they will listen.

Well done on taking steps to see the lawyer and the bank. Regardless of the outcome on Friday you know that we are here, and the support you get from the people on these boards is just amazing, if we can we help and if we can't we certainly know someone who can!!

Start focusing on the positive.. healthy husband and positive mindset x

Remember that your DMP is not set in stone. It is meant to help you live off the income you have and the remainder left is paid to your debts. You can do a review at any time and reduce payments if you need to.

Hope all goes well for you with the interview.

    Hiya
Just wanted to add that i'm so pleased the news about your OH was good. I don't think you realise how strong you are dealing with all this, you should be really proud of yourself. Thinking of you for Friday. Take care xx
  • The solicitor will probably have covered this anyway but just in case fere's a link to the Citizens Advice page that covers disciplinary action

    http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/life/employment/dealing_with_grievances.htm#dismissal_and_disciplinary_procedures

You might also be entitled to legal aid - you can check with community legal services at http://www.clsdirect.org.uk/en/legalaid/calculator.jsp

    Hope this helps

    Hi

I'm really pleased that your husband is ok.
Re your interview at work. I had to go through this a few years ago and please don't worry too much. you are entitled to take a representative with you, this can be a member of the staff representative board if you have one or just a friendly face. They don't have to do anything other that support you, they could make some notes for you for example. Its a very good idea to take some notes and also to draw upon good previous work history. I'm sure the solicitor gave you more good advice.

Please don't worry too much it may be that they just have to follow proceedure which is why you were suspended but this could just be a review of the incident rather than a discaplinary.

    Good luck.

  • Aww, that's fabulous news! You seem a lot more positive today, that's the way to do it, just one thing at a time! I'm sure if you are straight with your employers and explain the pressure you have been under they will be amazed that you were still turning up for work even! Keep it up, don't let it get on top of you again, and keep us updated..good luck!

  • Hi there,

Just wanted to say I'm really glad things are looking up for you.

I'm sure you've already covered all of this with your solicitor but just wanted to offer any help I can give for your meeting at work on Friday. I work in HR and work through disciplinaries regularly.

Please don't worry about the meeting, it's an opportunity for your employer to tell you what they think happened and for you to explain and give them all the information and it sounds like you're doing the right things in preparing. It's really important that you are open with whoever is taking your meeting about what has been going on for you as it will help them to understand and they may even be able to help now or in the future if you need assistance.

In relation to your suspension it should be fully paid and I would 100% advise you to bring someone level headed and fairly well respected into the meeting with you if only to sit there and take notes. Also be aware that you can ask for an adjournment at any time and you should do so if you are finding it too much and reconvene later or the next day if necessary.

It's hard to give you any specific info without knowing the full story but i'm sure your solicitor has been through it with you already. if you are worried about anything though pop a note up and i'll do my best to answer.

    Kate
