Picking up new car
I have just bought car and will be going in to get all the paperwork and pick it up this week.
I have it on finance and have GAP insurance as well. What paperwork will I need to check and sign and collect? Just want to create a checklist as I will be going alone! Thanks

There wont be a need to check any paperwork really. The dealer will send the V5 forms off, you will need to show insurance paperwork for the car, to enable them to Tax it, then you will sign the forms to say you are happy with the car, to take it away.
You will need to test drive the thing, take a good look all over it for marks, defects etc. Once you drive it away, anything noticed you will struggle to have it repaired straight away.
Examples are..
Check the wheels / tyres for marks, chips, scuffs
Check the body work for marks, scuffs, scratches.0 -

Hi,
Just wanted to pick up on what someone said about checking the car over... We didn't "think" we needed to check the car again (after already checking it when we took it for a test drive) It was winter when we collected it (so very dark at the garage) so I merrily drove the car home, parked up outside, walked past the passenger side door only to see a dent with the way the street lighting was. I had a huge sinking feeling - by the time I got home the garage had closed. As it turned out they didn't put up much of a fight (notice I said much...) they repaired it and addmitted they knew it wasn't me as someone had had the door panel off before and tried to fix it... they had left marks on the inside of the door.
Always worth double checking (like you are with the paperwork)0
