my hands are now very painful and out of shape with Rhuematoid Arthritis and it was suggested to me I buy Dragon naturally speaking which will type for me. But I am unsure if it will work in any browser or can it only work in IE, I currently use Netscape Navigator 9 and Opera and use Googlemail for emails. I need to know if it will work in these programmes and if anyone has any personal knowledge of this product I would appreciate the feedback,
Lastly if anyone knows of a bargain price I would appreciate that too thanks.

You should be able to use it with ANY windows application. As far as I know it isn't browser specific.
Are you a registered student, teacher or member of an institution or charity? If so there's discounted software here including Dragon: http://www.citnexus.co.uk/"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I have used Dragon in the past. I seem to remember that it can do things like number the links on a page for you in IE. I found an FAQ that said
CAN I DO WEB-BROWSING WITH NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR
At this time, no. However, you can still dictate directly into Netscape’s text fields.
Which suggests that if you are willing to use the mouse to navigate then you will be fine--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---
If you cannot scroll up in Google Chrome, google:
"google chrome scroll fix"
I have released a program to fix it.

All I can say is that I tried both IBM Via Voice and DNS a few years back as research for my dissertation, (it doenst mean im an expert as that was back in 2002ish) and I know DNS was back then the better of the two products. And if you had to choose go for DNS.
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Orchant/?p=171 works with Firefox apparently
But this site http://www.astvtech.com/faq.htm gives you a list of what it can and cant do, and netscape nav is not fully supported.
Although would it be worth using outlook and IE as its better than making your hands hurt.
Paulusdev beat me to it."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

I use this software for several hours a day to produce notes for my legal studies. I set my monitor to produce large size text and then I sit back in my chair and talk. The software works extremely well, but there are a number of problems:
[-] It is essential to have a good voice recognition microphone.
[-] You may need command software to use alongside Dragon.
[-] A high computer specification is necessary to cope with the power that Dragon demands
[-] A certain amount of time is required to adjust the system to your requirements.
This is not a mass market product that works perfectly out of the box, but it helps with productivity, with posture, with eyesight and with saving your hands.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0
