Make on offer in person or on the phone

Hi, I have seen a house which I am interested in, I am chain free, have a good deposit and I think I am in a position to move quickly with a sale if my offer is accepted. The house requires a fair bit of work and, that means a fair bit of investment after the house is bought and therefore may not every ones cup of tea due to the effort/cost in repairing the house. I have spoken to the EAs before and while the conversations on the phone have been brief and to the point they have been friendly when I have met them for viewings.
My question is, now that I have decided on making the offer, how to do it best? On the phone or in person in the EA’s office? The intention being to highlight my strengths to the maximum.
Any views/suggestions/experiences are very welcome.

i don't think it will make any difference.

the facts of your offer and your financial situation are the same either way, it's not going to make any difference as to whether the offer is accepted or not. the price you're offering is likely to be the main determinant in whether your offer is accepted or not.

all the estate agent is going to do is relay what you say to the vendor. personally i wouldn't bother turning up in person because it would take up more of my time to do so.

The majority of the offers I deal with are made over the phone, they are handled no differently to those that are made face to face. Just make sure you have all the details relating to your financial situation to hand.
