  • What about going to some of the Historic Scotland properties in your area? During the whole month of October, they run "Kids go Free", so you'd only have to pay for yourself. Places like Urquhart Castle etc

    http://www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/index/places.htm

What about taking a mid-week trip down to Edinburgh/Glasgow on the Megabus and combining it with a stay in a Travelodge? (they've got special offers with rooms starting from £19 a night....) You could visit a number of places in either city, with plenty free places to go to - museums, art galleries, etc. Again, Historic Scotland, "Kids Go Free" - Edinburgh Castle?

If you've got a Tesco Clubcard, you could apply on-line for Clubcard Deal tokens that you can then use for Days Out to places like Edinburgh Dungeon, M&D's Theme Park in Motherwell, National Trust for Scotland Premises, Camera Obscura in Edinburgh, Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway, Science Centre in Glasgow, etc.

Hope you have a good week off and find plenty to do!

If only I could still ski! lol A bit parkie here, too, today....(swathed in fleeces!)

I know of a holiday cottage to let on the other side of my village and it's dirt cheap - so maybe my favourite haunts aren't out of reach....??

  • Hi there

We have Links Family farm down here in East Lothian (at West Barns). Not a cheap day out but the grandkids do love it. Worth a visit especially if you decide to travel to say Edinburgh.

    GB

Great stuff - and if you're out at East Links (West Barns is by Dunbar), the Dunbar Leisure Pool is terrific! (wave machine and flume/slide thingies)
