MorganStanley & Barclaycard cashback

The Morganstanley cash back card recommended on here previously is being replaced with Barclaycard cashback card (which isn't a particularly good deal). I rang Barclaycard to cancel it and after a few minutes trying to talk me out of it they offered me £10 as a good will gesture not to cancel. If anyone else has the card then I suggest you do as I'm doing, accept the offer, spend the tenner then cancel next month.

  • The call centre service is shocking as well, they've taken over this card and don't have the records to deal with anything when it was Morgan Stanley.

BACLAYS if you are going to take something over then do it seamlessly not half cocked it makes for a very bad taste in the mouth especially now the call centre is offshore it makes it all the more frustrating. I'll be cancelling too once I find a new provider. Shell at Citi bank are also rubbish.

This is unfortunate. I was very happy with Morgan Stanley. I thought their Customer Service was excellent and on an 0800 number as well. Now, with Barclay's, it is an 0844 number which charges 6p set up call and about 3p/minute to include waiting time while they find someone free.
Had a good start today - called the 0800 number to activate the card and asked them to reduce my credit limit - surprise : the system was down and I must call the 0844 number.
    FREEDOM IS NOT FREE

I always use the call from abroad number on the back of the card, from my mobile and use the inclusive minutes I never use up other wise! 01604 230230 Just ignore the reporting a card lost or stolen hang on and it goes through to give you all the options. Hope that's a help? 0800 number was great when I was at home though I admit! but when you're out and about the cll from abroad number works fine :)
