Just bought one for my mother, Microsoft VX 1000. nice and simple and only cost £13.97 in store (Middlebrook, nr Bolton) (£19.94 on-line??).

Depends what OS you are using, some will not work with vista, but I would recommend getting a more expensive one, you will really see and hear the difference in quality.
Logitech 4000 or 5000 as it is now is the one I would endorse, tried a few but never found one that matched the quality especially under artificial or low light, as with many things you get what you pay for.

Try going to argos and getting one, if it is no good return it under their no quibble returns policy.
