Hi all you clever techie folks,
My Dad works from home, but can't get mobile phone reception in his office. He can get reception in other places in the house. It's a 4 bed detached house, so not massive, but his office is in the converted garage so for some reason the phone signal doesn't get to there. He is looking to buy a mobile phone signal booster and has been advised by the technical manager at his company that this one is the one to get:
http://www.mobdev.co.uk/acatalog/TX900P_Home_Small_Office_Amplified_Booster_System_-_Outdoor_900_MHz.html
It is pretty expensive at £385, but that maybe because it is a good one, and he doesn't see any point in getting one that may or may not work. As it is for work he does NEED it to work.
BUT.... I did find several on the internet that are cheaper.
So, I have two questions:
1) Is there any way I can get this particular one cheaper (I have looked, but couldn't find it anywhere else)
2) Would a cheaper one do exactly the same, or is this one made with superdooper componenents?
Thank you in advance,
T

May be cheaper to try a different mobile. I've just upgraded to a slidy samsung and can't get signal in some rooms in my house, whereas my old motorola phone (which had a stubby aerial) could pick up a signal anywhere.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My mate lives in Spain. Basically what he has is something that looks like a TV aerial on the outside that points towards the transmitter and has a lead that comes into the house which plugs into the bottom of the phone. He went from no signal to 5 bars.
But as solvercar has pointed out, part of the problem is that antennas are integrated into the phone case nowadays.0 -
what phone is it?If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think it is some kind of blackberry thing. I'll find out. Thanks for replies.MF date: Dec [STRIKE]2028[/STRIKE] 2019. Overpayments in 2007=£900, 2008=£1200 2009=234000

Have a look here

The sell aerial for 3g cards but these should also work for a mobile phone, if there is not a aerial connector for your phone the modem mate may work0
