Buyer problem.....

Hi
I ahd a dressgin table finish yesterday morning, I arranged the winner to collect it at 7.30 last night.
They arrived at 9 ( ) and collected it and paid by cash
I have just got an email from them saying that the stool was stained and it is disgusting and they want to know what I am going to do about it, before they "take this further!"
The stool was not stained at all and they said nothing last night.

Waht can they or I do?!

To be honest I'm not sure if there's anything they really could do. They didn't pay by paypal so they don't have any real protection.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly.

They can't do anything unless they go through small claims or such like . personally I would remain polite and say to them that they seemed happy enough with the item when they collected it and sort of close the question down.

They probably want a discount from you.

You need to decide what you want to do here and how much a neg is worth to you. personally if the price you got was a good one then call their bluff, refuse a refund outright and if she negs then so be it, just respond with a comment explaining that buyer tried to get a discount after sale.

If the costs are low then just tell them to bring the whole lot back and you'll give them a full refund. Don't get sidetracke dinto a refund, either that shut up and go away or they go to all the bother of returning the items at your convenience and go without a new dressing table set.

They do not have any real choice but to let it go as they do not have any buyer protection via Paypal. If there were no stains when collected ask them to email you a picture of said stains- if they ae trying it on you may find you do not hear from them again. If they send photo with stain and you are sure this has happened since- politely state that the item was fine when collected and again there is not much they can do.

Sorry but I would not ask them for a photo, your just incouraging them to carry on asking for a bit of money back. They have checked it out before they took it away with them so it's to late really now.
Thanks for any help and advice given

Don't do anything, they inspected and paid cash for your item.

    There's nothing they can do.
