Wow! I haven't been back to this thread for ages, I can't believe how well everyone is doing!
Those who are still struggling, keep trying. I had to send two letters before I even got a reply from Lloyds, so keep persevering. Good luck to all!

I've just negotiated with Egg the removal of PPI on my loan, which will either knock a year off my maturity date, or £70 per month off my repayments. Whoo!
However, they said that they will not refund any of the premium already paid. From reading this thread, do I understand that a refund is only available if you have been mis-sold the policy?semper in faecibvs svmvm, sole profvndvm variat0 -

What are the reasons for you cancelling it? If you feel you have been mis sold it then use the complaint letter.

Hi Guys
I am at the beginning of my secured loan with Black Horse (documents not yet signed), so still in the 1 weeks grace from the initial meeting at one of their offices. I have the proposed credit agreement on a loan for 28,500 @ 11.4% APR over 10 years. This gives me a monthly payment of £390. In addition to this the PPI monthly payment is £69. I have decided that I dont really need the PPI as my employer offers critical insurance anyway.
If I decide to cancel the PPI I assume I write to the provided cancellation team with Black Horse, or should I telephone? Also would the amount of credit for the PPI (£5078 + £3263 interest) be refunded to me as a cheque or would it be knocked off the total amount payable spread over the loan period, lowering the monthly payment?
Thanks in antcipation (this is my first post!)

ps I expect to refinance this loan in 12 months at a lower % APR, when my credit rating has improved.0 -

Hi Guys, I had a loan with Northern Rock which was paid off in full in October 2006. When I took out the loan I was made to believe - no PPI no loan. I've recently written to Northern Rock and complained about this and low and behold they have phoned me tonight and asked me for my bank details so they can reimburse me £488.0
