Lloyds TSB - multiple current accounts

I've just opened a Classic Vantage current account with Lloyds TSB, which i will be using to pay my bills via DD. But i want to open another current account with them for my own personal spending money (i prefer to have 2 seperate accounts so i know exactly where i am with my money).

Will Lloyds allow me to do this? Has anyone else done it?

  • Yup, I did it last year with Lloyds, doing it now with HSBC. Typically most banks will let you have as many accounts as you like.
  • Have just gone to open my 2nd current account with Lloyds, and on the page just before i start the application process, it says, "Before you start, you'll need to confirm all the statements below" - and the 1st line says "I do not have a current account with Lloyds TSB".

Did you open your 2nd Lloyds account online? Or did you go into the branch and tell them you want a 2nd account?
  • I went into the branch.
  • They've got no problem with me and the OH each having 2 accounts with them... and a savings account each... and a joint savings account... and a credit card... and some home insurance...

You can apply for a second LTSB Current Account online. You need to log in to the Internet banking and select Current Account in Apply Now section.

Thanks. Am not signed up for online banking yet (still waiting for the postman to delivery all my details i need to sign in!) I did look on the demo pages on Lloyds' website, but it only shows applying for savings accounts, loans, and credit cards.

    I will try this soon.

Thanks everyone for your input
