I hope someone can answer my questions.
If I book two tickets for a berth, and select the 'sharing' option, does that mean we will definitely be sharing together?
I know it's online tickets only, so when could I expect to get my tickets to print out? I don't have a printer at home so would need to go the library to print it out so getting it on the day of travel is not ideal, but could be done if necessary.
Are the berths actually comfy? Or, more importantly, are they comfier than the seats? Did those last time and they are not something I want to do again.
I probably have more, but will ask again if I can remember them. Thanks.

I would assume so (but always dangerous to assume I know). I haven't used the sleeper in 25 years but used to be very comfortable.
They normally post out the tickets to you, don't they?
Why not give them a ring to check.0 -
The Sleeping train is an unusual train.
The berths are small (about the size of a prison cell), the beds are okayish but I wouldn't want to sleep perm on it. Yes they are more comfortable then the seats.
I tend to travel by the seats as its free for me. Going by berth costs me £30ish, and im all about money saving.
You can buy tickets for the sleeper train at a ticket office, but most staff have not been trained on how to issue them. I would therefore go to a big ticket office or travel centre.
If you book two berths at the same time you will be in the same berth.Ex-Employee of a Train Operating Company.

The berths are a bit pokey but they suffice. 2 people in a berth means the top bed will be folded down, so it's basically bunk beds.
Compared with the hassle of flying and the boredom of a day train, it is quite a nice way to travel0 -
Ah, thanks. I thought that we would be sharing, but just wanted to make sure. I was an idiot and booked the wrong tickets for the way back (they were cheap, so it's not as bad) so it looked like we'll be trying to get seated for the way back up. This is why I should never be trusted to organise and book anything!
Hintza, nope, they don't post them. At least not these ones. I need to print out an e-mail and that is my ticket.0 -

Sometimes you may be able to get an upgrade to a berth on the day. Very rare and depends on the loadings (how busy the train is). Fridays and Sundays are a no no for upgrades.
If you have two separate tickets for different berths and your travelling together the Sleeper Host can sometimes do some shuffling around so your in the same compartment.
To get a seat in the seated section, reserve the seats NOW. As the seated section always always gets full very quickly once the berths have been taken.
Believe it or not, even staff cant get an upgrade when its full or near to full. We are expected to give up our seat/bed for you the paying customer.Ex-Employee of a Train Operating Company.

I booked the wrong day, so probably wouldn't be able to get an upgrade. I'm leaving it up to my friend to book the seats. He should be doing it soon enough. If not it might be a seedy hotel in London for us!0
