I bought 2 tins of chocolates for Christmas a few weeks ago from Mr Ts when they were on BOGOF but I took them straight to my parents' house so they won't get eaten!

    Evening everyone!

Have had quite a busy but enjoyable day today. This morning I got up early (for a weekend - 8am) and got my stuff ready for the gym, rushed to Mr T, did the food shop in a record 40 minutes, including gettting a prescription for pregnant neighbour upstairs, rushed home, changed into my new tracksuit bottoms (from Mr T) rushed back to the gym for 10am, and then did a bodybalance class 10.30-11.30. I went today on a one of my Dad's guest passes again, and this time my Mum came along, but she went swimming whilst I was in my class. I decided to join after all, as they have an offer on at Cannons until the end of September that they will give you a month free, and no joining fee. Also, the manageress was really nice cos when I mentioned I was a teacher, she put me on the corporate rate, which is a bit cheaper than the full rate, and also put my Mum on that rate too as she works for the local uni. So, my bank account is ever so slightly lighter, as I paid the year upfront (also gave more of a discount), but at least I know that I won't have anything going out of my account every month now. It works out at roughly £35 per month including all of the classes, sauna, steam room, gym and swimming etc. Hopefully my Mum and I will start going together in the evenings, as we both need to lose some weight (me because of all of the cakes I've been baking, and her because of the rich food my Dad cooks her - plus she had a bad back and couldn't exercise for quite a while).

After the gym, I went into town and paid in a cheque, renewed my library book for the fourth time (have been reading aloud to OH at bedtime but he keeps on falling asleep in the middle of chapters and it's a really thick book). Then I took prescription up to my neighbour and sat there chatting with her, her mum and dad and her inlaws.

Then I hung out the bedsheets on the line (they can dry overnight as I have a few sets). Have just gone out and cleaned my car windows with vinegar and newspaper and I can't believe how filthy they had been, especially the inside of the windscreen!

Off to make dinner in a minute - pasta bolgnaise (veggie) with salad then will have a rest with XFactor and Casualty etc for the rest of the night.

    Hope everyone is well!

    sexymouse xx

ps Valli - I had to go to Boots yesterday (yes, really, I had to...) and used my £5 voucher on Davidoff Cool Water Wave, half price at £9.95, so only had to pay £4.95!!! Now have my eye on Eden for DD for Christmas.

I have a problem! The perfume I want is Paul Smith Rose £24 in Boots - I have tried it and I like it. In the discount shop it's £19.99 so obviously with a Boots voucher that's the better deal plus I would get Adv. points (96 = 96p)
The problem is this - I loved the perfume BUT (oh you are so going to laugh) I heard on the radio that it's a fragrance associated with old women (Rose that is - not necessarily this one) and this perfume has rose in top, middle and bottom notes - so it's really rosey.
Do I buy the fragrance I like and ignore the 'old lady' association? It's bad enough being single without scaring 'em off!:D

Valli - rose isn't associated with old ladies, that's lavender! If it was local radio you can guarantee they haven't done their research... they come out with unbelievable cr*p all the time - you'd think they hadn't ever heard of the internet! For a cheaper option though, you might want to try rose otto essential oil - dab it on as perfume, put a few drops in the bath, or mix with a neutral oil (e.g. hemp) as a moisturiser.

Personally, I don't have to worry about my perfume scaring men off. I'm more than capable of doing that on my own!

Couldn't be bothered to go to the supermarket. Got humous, cottage cheese, yogurt & a pizza in the village shop. So that's my weekly shop for £20 - I just might be short of fruit juice this week, as I'm very fussy about it and only drink the organic Grove Fresh stuff (it's the only thing I buy from Tesco... and if anywhere else stocked such a good selection of it, I'd stop...)

Edit: I found this for Valli: According to perfume experts, we subconsciously pick a perfume that reflects our personality, and this gives off subtle clues about the kind of character that we are. If florals are your preferred type of fragrance, you’re likely to be fun, flirty, spontaneous, adventurous, romantic, girly and elegant. This is the most feminine fragrance. (Or if the radio is right, you're subconsciously channelling your inner old lady :rotfl: )
  • Welcome Shelley3774 - I think you will do just fine!!!!!!!! I was tired just reading your post!! Welcome to thread! The rooms come round on a different day every week and you will soon get it under control.

Hi Sexy - you had a busy and fun day - well done on joining the health club - it must be nice to do things with your Mum.

Valli - if you like it get it -I wouldnt be worrying about the OLD label that roses have - men dont know these things and if he is only going out with you because you smell nice then there's something wrong with him!!!!!

Thanks lil_me will have a look at that site for ideas.

In my HHC I emptied and reloaded the DW, put away my shopping, closed the windows and curtains, and put the rubbish out - more than I would have done without the HHC - thanks Julie
