Hi YC - hope work goes ok for you on Monday - I was booking a weeks leave within a few days of going back - it felt like I had never been away!
Thanks - it wasn't too bad, although I missed my little fella loads. It's strange, I feel like I just went there for a day trip, and tomorrow I'll be at home with him again. Too bad that's not the case
I booked some leave today, think I'd been in the office about 3 hours :rotfl:
It may be a good idea to keep a spending diary and write down absolutely everything that you buy. It will help you to see how accurate your budget is and keep track of where everything is going!
That's a good idea. I think I'll have a go at it starting from today
The only other thing I can suggest is check quidco when your insurance renewals are up for cashback.
Will do, although OH has just got his through and his current company are the cheapest by miles even with quidco. I'm with the same people, so it'll probably be the same for me, but I'll definitely keep an eye on it.
I'm just going to look through the internet banking now to see how the grocery budget is going.Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000 -
Today was my first NSD in ages :j
Out of the £100 we have for the groceries, we've spent £44.90 at the supermarket, £2.47 at the corner shop, and £9.42 at the green grocers.
So the total so far is £56.79 out of £100
We should have definitely have enough food, but we'll need top-ups of things like milk, bread and fruit for DS.
Fingers crossed I manage to stick to the budget for the first time this year :rotfl:Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000 -
Mmm, I have to admit I am sometimes guilty of spending ahead of my budget
hehe
Guess it still stops me spending more in the long run though, as I feel pretty guilty about it most of the time. And I almost REFUSE to take money out of savings to pay for it, so I am getting better control there lol
Except in the holidays I tend to go a bit nuts, boredom perhaps
You sound like you are doing okay. I haven't had many NSDs lately myself, maybe now I am back at work from tomorrow I will have a few. :A"Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without!!"Nov NSD: ?/30 Nov Make 10 Day ?/300Get Rid Of Debt: ?/2000 !! :mad:0 -
Well I've had a pretty busy week, so not had chance to come on here and do an update.
All in all not had a bad week money wise. Although I took £40 out yesterday, as we went to the coast, so go money for diesel, then had lunch out. This morning went to the car boot sale, and bought DS some new toys as he's needed some more for ages.
Not really had a look at the budget loads over the weekend, but will have a look tomorrow at work. Need to save £500 by the end of March, as we owe it for a TV we bought last year. We already have £90 in an account to use towards it, so will have to try and put some money to one side each month. Also, my car ins is up for renewal on 2nd Nov, and can get is for £319 if I pay for it up front. I've got £246 in an account for car ins, so I can either find £75ish and pay it all up front, or I could pay for it in installments and then I only have to find £250 to pay for the telly. Will have to think about that one.....Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000 -
Well once again it's all gone Pete Tong
Don't know how it happens, but once again we've overspent, and are now overdrawn.
At least it should be a NSD today. Am going to see my dad, picking up some clothes (for me) from a Freecycler while I'm over there. And am going to suggest that my dad and I go to the park with DS for a walk, so should be no spending today :j
Tonight I'm going to try and re-do the budget as I really need to try and put away some more money for gas and electric...Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000
