No payout by life and mortgage insurance

Hi all, just wondered if anyone can give me some advice. My mother unfortunately passed away which is hard enough to deal with and she had a life insurance policy and a mortgage protection policy. Unfortunately one of the exlusions stated in both policies is what my mother died with. Do you think they will pay out? If not is there anything I can do as my mam paid these for years and Im sure they will say no!!!!! Thanks, sorry guys its life and mortgage assurance

You say they are life insurance plans, not life assurance. Life insurance plans can have restrictions on what they pay out on (i.e. accidental death or no cover until after a certain date) Life assurance plans do not unless it is a medical underwriting exclusion.
Do you think they will pay out?

What are the exclusions and do they apply?

life assurance plans would only put exclusions on them if there is a pre-existing condition at time of application. i.e. someone with a nervous or mental disorder may find suicide cover is not given on the policy. Or someone with a heart condition may find a company is will to accept cover for any death unless linked to that heart condition.
