Hi, does anyone have a Fon recommendation code they'd like to pass on to me?

I'm about to buy a Fonera, and if I can save some money on it all the better.
Also the one thing I can't seem to find out is: what is the connection speed when I'm on my own connection? I know that it's 512kbps when I'm connected to the Fon community, but how much do I get to keep for myself?
Your help is much appreciated.

There only £29, go on, there not that expensive
When you say what speed, do you mean what throughput? If so, then you can set that in the FON control panel to whatever you like, up to as fast as your broadband connection.0 -
You can be offered one free on some PC magazine subscriptions or upgrades, e.g. PC Advisor0

I know, tight, aren't I?
I'm on a low income and am getting so used to saving money through this website that it's now in the blood: if I can find a bargain, then I will try!
I think I've solved the connection speed issue, I think it's about 54mbps.
Thanks0 -

That is the maximum transfer rate between your PC and the wireless router, NOT your internet connection speed. Who gets 54MB internet at home in this country! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I hope your ISP doesn't find out and I hope non of the people connecting to it do anything dodgy such as downloading pirated film and music....
When the entire IT industry is banging on about wifi security and the broadband account holder being held liable for illegal activities on that account, !!!!!! would you entertain FON?0 -
Codes in the UK no longer work - it's due to the BT tie up, most probably, and they don't offer the original router here anymore, only the Fonera+, which is £29.990

FON still have the Fonero gets Fonero promotion which give a Fonera router for 19 euros.
PM me your name & email address and I'd be happy to send you the code/voucher.0
