Hiya, I dont know if this is the correct place to put this but...
I recently aquired a long awaited PS3 for my birthday. Unfortunatly at current the only LCD screen I have is a Samsung SyncMaster 913N 19" 800:1 VGA only monitor (currently in use for the desktop). I was thinking of using this for the PS3 for now but it seems that i need a DVI/RGB/HDMI/optial input in the LCD. Ooops! Dont have that on my LCD, so since I need to get a new one to enjoy the proper graphics on the PS3 is there very good recommended one between 22" to 32"? Not bothered about TV, speakers etc etc, It'll purely be used for the PS3. Actually the only spec I suppose I require is able to plug the laptop into the screen but thats no biggie.
Branding wise, im not really too bothered but I've seen some new samsungs which are very nice quality yet decently priced.

This is one im semi looking at atm, 8000:1 contrast sounds a little on the low side though.. seeing as alot of LCD TV's are like 30,000:1 etc.. Suggestions
Thanks for reading!

Is there a particular reason you're limiting yourself to monitors rather than TVs? The larger screen you get the far more economical it'd be to get a TV rather than monitor and there's no advantage to using a monitor with a PS3 (it was designed to be used with TVs after all)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Umm.. not really, thought it might be more cost effective, I dont watch TV much as I watch most of the stuff online (laptop). But if it is a LCD TV without compromising quality then Im all for that. Thanks!0

It's much of muchness at smaller sizes but at larger it's definitely cheaper to get a TV. E.g. a 30" monitor would be at least a grand whereas a 32" LCD TV would be less than half that. A decent TV only has to go up to High Definition in terms of resolution which is the max a PS3 can output anyway. A large monitor would natively be at a higher resolution than that (which isn't being made use of by the PS3), e.g. 1600 compared to maximum HD of 1080. A monitor is overkill really unless you're definitely going to be using it with a computer as well. And of course at even larger sizes then it's more economical to get a plasma TV (you could get a decent 42" TV for the same price as the 32" LCD I mentioned earlier, which again is only half the cost of a 30" PC monitor, in fact my brother plays his PS3 on a Panasonic 42" plasma)."She is quite the oddball. This has a lot of connections and uses a pva panel whcih is considered one of the best http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/monitor_2408wfp?c=us&l=en&s=dfo I got one myself and it does 1080p 1920x1200 Its pricey though at around £410 but have no issues with games lagging and monitor have ben turned to portrait and has usb connections, card reader0

I think im into more of a LCD TV screen then if they're cheaper, on saying that, 42" plasma same price as a 32" LCD? really? I need to check that out.0

I go my son a 37" LCD Hannspree to go with his xbox 360 then got him a PS3 as well both have fantastic picture's on them during gameplay and the blue-ray dvd qaulity is superb...I paid £360 from dabs.com
but you can get a 26" for space saving and cheaper price...
