Schengen visa not stamped - Calais to Dover

Hi,

I returned from Belgium yesterday evening via EuroLines bus.
My passport was checked by French authorities and then UK authorities at Calais just before the bus boarded the ferry to Dover port.

I got a UK entry stamp, but the French guys did not stamp my Schengen visa for exit. So I have no proof of when I left the Schengen zone....

Has this happened to anyone else using the ferry from France to England? How about those travelling by EuroStar....were ur passports stamped for both Schengen exit and UK entry??

More importantly, I am concerned if this will affect any future visa application for Schengen zone...should I be concerned?

Thanks a lot!
Greg

  • Bit late anyway I would have thought!
  • I shouldn't think so, anyway don't you have the return ticket / email / proof of purcahse of your return ticket? If you're that worried you could always keep that, but I honestly don't think there is any need to be. I travel quite frequently to Germany which is also a Schengen country and never have anything in my passport.

    Hello Greg,
I assume from your question you do not have a British Passport. Why not call your Embassy or Consulate in England and ask them about this issue.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

If this were to be an issue, your UK entry stamp would serve as proof that you left the Schengen zone. However, the French authorities at Calais would have scanned your passport and so a record of your departure will be held in their computer system, so you are highly unlikely to have any problems in the future.
