Boycot Studio Cards, 24 studio

This company is extracting the urine. I know a few companies try to force you to pay by direct debit, but studio are reeling it in.

I do not pay by DD for a reason, sometimes I pay the minimum amount monthly, othertimes when I am better off, I pay more. I pay most of my things via internet banking, something that Studio promised at least a year ago when I asked. To date there is still no online method of payment.

You are conned into a sense of getting a right bargain, but by the time you add the interest your not.

44.9% APR typical (variable) or 29.5% APR (Variable) if you pay by DD

Service charge 2.9% or 2% DD of the balance brought forward from your last statement

Additional 1.5% of payment value if paying by credit card.

Companies like this will continue all the time we liet them get away with fleecing us.

I am now emailing them, complaining, also telling them no more promotional mail etc, just send me a statement only. Once paid off I am closing my account.

Make a stand against these companies that behave in such a way

Sadly many catalogue companies charge high apr. Additions is 39.7%.

Word of warning; check to make sure your studio account gets closed. It took them 7 months to close mine (did'nt notice until I checked my credit report and did'nt get statements) .
  • Thanks for the advice, no worries I will insist all my details are removed. I have no faith in their CS whatsoever.
High apr is one thing, but to have to pay ot as being penalised for no paying by DD is totally wrong.

If we pay before due date, we are penalised for payment method, if we pay late we are penalised for being late. Regardless, either way the customer is penalised

MIL uses these people. She has had nothing but trouble after 6 months of smooth running. She Sent some goods back, and despite phoning every week for 8 weeks, they neglected to send any statements etc and charged her for late payments when she had no idea how much they wanted her to pay. They wouldn't even give her the payment amounts over the phone.

She is paying it off, chalking it up to experience and letting them go.
