I sold a brand new mobile(GPS nokia phone) two weeks ago. I am sure the mobile has never been used. I only opened the box to check contents and working, never charged the handset. However, today I received the message from the buyer and said something wrong with the battery.
I dont think there is something wrong with battery as it will be fully test by manufacture. I think the buyer has changed his mind and dont want the item. This is the first complain I have ever experienced.
How should I do then? How to reply to buyer. I really dont want to accept the return as the brand new item has been used two weeks by the buyer. He should have contacted me within 7 days.
Any advice would be appreciated greatly. Thanks.

If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

You need to write a really really polite response, take some time over it. Explain that guides as to battery life asusme the phone is unused and for instance anyone using the phone for any reason will drain the battery faster. Also even sitting ona tube where the phone is contantly trying to get a signal wears the battery out, my Nokia E65 has a battery life of around 5 days but on days where I travel a lot on the tube I can run the battery out in 24 hours.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If it's an N82 running Tomtom, then 1 day is about right. In fact one day is ambitious, despite Nokia's claim.0

Thanks for reply. I really dont know the buyers thoughts. It is known that there isnt a definite answer about how long the battery can last. But the battery should not have a quality problem as its completely brand new. I have sold many mobiles, never had any problems. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.0

To be fair to the buyer, there is a possibility the battery is faulty. I bought a mobile last year, brand new, sealed when I got it, yet the battery wouldn't hold a charge and I had to get it replaced.
I'm not saying the buyer isn't trying to pull a fast one (especially since it's happening more and more these days thanks to the new feedback system), I'm just saying if you didn't check the battery before sending then you can't be 100% sure there isn't a fault with it.Sigless0
