hi,
i purchased a 3 + 2 leather suite from land of leather in may. it was in the sale, but in apparant perfect condition when purchased
since then a seam has come unstitched. to cut a long story short land of leather have admitted its a manufacturing fault and offered to refund us or a replacement.
now we would like a replacement, but the problem is the model (which is the same as we have) is now £200 more and land of leather say we have to pay the difference. we also took out a 5 year guarantee, but this isn`t covered as it is s manufacturers fault.
should we have to pay the £200 difference just get a replacement of the same suite though land of leather say its a manufacturing fault.
i have looked on the trading standards website and i couldn`t find anything.
thanks

They must repair, replace like for like, or offer something you find acceptable as an alternative or they must refund. As they are not offering repair, can't do like for like and you don't find the alternative acceptable at £200 more, they must refund. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people

Unfortunately its upto LOL whether to refund, replace or repair....
As for the guarentee, normally these guarenteees are for wear and tear to the material and specifically exclude damage covered elsewhere hence why this has happened as they will be passing liability for the cost onto the manufacturer
I would ensure you get the money for your guarentee at least pro rata refunded
If you really want a new one you could make a formal complaint to head office but bear in mind it would be a gesture, so a polite letter as opposed to telling them you will never shop there again0
