Watch out for NPower
Options
Switched Gas suppliers in April 08 and phoned in May to fix price. Recently got a letter informing me that the price had gone up! Loads of calls later and still not resolved, NPower are refusing to fix the price on the plan that I signed up to in April on the internet. Got proof that they verbally agreed to the fix in May, they have it recorded, but so far are refusing. Anyone else had this experience?

What proof?
Have they admitted in writing that they fixed? (letter or email?)
or are they maintaining that telephone calls do not apply to accounts set up on the internet?0 -
When you switch tariffs with npower they always (well barring the postbox catching fire) send you a letter giving details of the new tariff. If you did not receive the letter then something must have gone wrong with the switching process.
What is the proof you have that you asked to switch.0 -

I fixd my price in March (NPower representative at door) and when I got a letter through about the new rates I phoned to check I was on the fixed rate - they said I wasn't.
Unfortunatly I can't remember the name of the Npower rep or I would take a complaint further. Doesn't seem to be much else I can do.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I take it, when you switched in April, you didn't have a fixed price. Then you say you fixed the price in May. The tariff you switched to in May will not be fixed at the rate you were on in April, but fixed at a higher tariff.
If I could fix my price at the current rate, I would do so immediately and so would millions of others, and that would lose the energy companies £millions
When you sign up for a capped deal, you wll get a new rate which is inevitably more than your existing plan. Basically you gamble by paying more now on a capped deal, you will save money in the future, if energy prices rise again.0
