Unable to open Office Outlook 2007

Options
Now this is starting to drive me crazy! I have searched for a solution on the web and nothing that has been recommended has worked.

When I try to open Outlook it looks as though it is going to do it but then closes down and gives me the following error message.

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Errors have been detected in the file c:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst Quit Outlook and all mail enabled applications and then use the Inbox Repair tool (scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file. For more information about the Inbox Repair tool see help.

I have downloaded all the Microsoft updates and have tried to unistall and reinstall and nothing has worked.

I have opened Scanpst.exe and then tried to browse to find outlook.pst but I get as far as the Admin folder and find there isn't a "Local Settings" folder there. I have done a search to find a Outlook.pst, found one in a completely different folder, ran the Scanpst.exe and it found no problems.

Any suggestions? Any way to stop me slowing loosing my sanity? Please.

Many thanks for any help.

Have you set windows explorer to view hidden files and folders? Open up a any window (assuming XP), go to tools, folder options, view and select appropriate setting under hidden files and folders.

Now all I have to do is figure out why my laptop has taken a dislike to my livebox and I will be happy man.
