  • At the ports the luck is in the hands of the gods, anything can happen. Ariving early , their is a chance of an earlier ferry or being at the front of the que for your 9 pm one. I think it depends on how bussey they are.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

If there's room on the earlier one you'll probably be allowed on it at no extra charge. No recent experience but it's happened to me in the past

If they want to charge then you'll be able to wait if you prefer not to pay
  • Norfolkline let me travel on the earlier ferry, no fuss ..just said "thats fine!" ..Hopfully P&O will be the same :)

  • We travelled back over from Calais to Dover over the bank holiday weekend, we arrived about 7 hours early and she had to speak to her manager, she said it would normally cost £60 but on this occasion they would let us on for no charge, this was P&O.

Worth a try I would say.

  • I went to Calais last week and was put on the early ferry to Calais as qwe arrived in Dover a little earlier.

Also, arrived earlier in Calais but their services are not as good as in Dover and didn't get put on the earlier one and boarded the ship later than expected.

yes, definetely. I got an earlier ferry in the past back from Calais back in Feb with no problems. I used P & O. I also managed to miss my check in for my ferry at Dover and I got put on a later one with no extra charge.
