I have dyslexia and find it hard to read stuff on a white background. I have been told that you can change the colour of the background on Microsoft works word processor? Is this true and if it is, how do you do it? The person that told me about it hasn’t got a clue how to do it, she just heard of another person.
Thanks, Shelley

If you go to 'Format' on the top line then 'Background' on the dropdown menu and click the colour of your choice, you can also change the colour of the typeface.
As far as I remember the page will still print on white so watch out on your selection of colour for the typeface.0 -
It doesn't have that option on my version of Works (v9).
You could try Format > Borders and Shading, select shading and change the colour in fill style, but you would have to change back to white before printing.Charlie0 -
Word 2007 has it Page Layout/Page Color <sic>
Son had mild form? of dyslexia and he had no trouble with on screen text. He managed a degree too. How about these:-
Can you lower the screen brighness/contrast. Change the font and size to suit you. Make sure the screen refresh rate is high as your crt monitor can handle - 75-120 Hz. Don't sit under flourescient lights.0 -
