looking for software for video clips etc

Is there free software out there or for a fee that you can add video clips together or move them around to make a good enough dvd to watch on say your tv,pc etc. which where taken with my camcorder on sd card.
Was on holidays recently and took many short clips of it some of the same thing but not all in same clip to capture the best bits and save the battery.
I am now looking to move them around and add them together so it all can be watch at once

you might find that any cheap or free program is limited in the formats it can work with. For example if you use the windows movie make included with XP you might find that it is fine with wma and avi but i your camera records in mov it won't work.

I could be wrong of course but i've generally found that the free programs have (quite understandably) fewer options and more compatibility problems.

I've used pro-show gold before. It's great for making slide show movies from still images but you can also insert movie clips. All sorts of transitions and music options too. You can also make up a DVD style menu page at the start. Wirh practice and time you can make quite a professional looking movie.
