My typing is annoying hubby as he's watching telly. we have the computer in the living room so I can keep an eye on it if there are any kiddies in the house.
But I tend to bash the keys hard as I type

Is there a quiet keyboard I can buy?
Not a wireless one though, I had a wireless mouse for a bit and it was carp, kept having to replace batteries.

This Apple keyboard is great:

A little bit on the expensive side, but it's very quiet, easy to type on, and it looks gorgeous. It works fine on PCs.0 -
That is a beauty but I haven't got a Mac?
It says sys requirements,
Mac computer with available USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.4.10 or later
Keyboard software update
It's dead sexy though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

It's works just fine with a PC. I've used it with Windows installed on my Mac.
PC World used to sell Apple keyboards. If they still do, you could always ask them if you could try it out.
ETA: It has some keys for using iTunes and the like. I'm not sure how they would work in Windows, Apple do have Windows keyboard drivers though.0 -
