Removing Scratch from Mirror

Just had our bathroom refurbished. We have a huge mirror which we laid aside whilst renovations were taking place. The mirror has now gone back up on the wall but has gotten badly scratched at the side - circular pattern of scratches. We've no idea what caused them.

Has anyone any idea if these can be removed - eg T-Cut or Brasso or anything else? I haven't tried anything yet.

brasso may work ok, but best is try and get some jewellers rouge. we used to use that on auto glass.
btw. it takes a lot of elbow grease!

Sounds like someone has rubbed the mirror with the back of their hand to remove condensation/marks/dust whilst wearing a diamond ring.

Run a needle lightly across the surface of the glass and over the"scratch" to see if the "scratch" is indented.

If it is indented then only a diamond will cut glass.

If it is not indented could well be its removed over time as something softer than glass has been caught up in a duster or suchlike.

Always use a chamious if possible.

Crumpled newspaper cleans normal mirrors or glass fairly well if not to dirty.
