hi,
we have a kitchen tap like the one below
but the problem is that the taps have started to get really hard
we have tried putting grease inside each but nothing has helped.
does any one know what else we can do or where we can get the internal washers from
thanks

We have a tap virtually the same as that only ours doesn't have that "lip" thing on the end. We had problems with the handles and OH rang the manufacturers and they sent out replacement handles FOC. They're quite old now and the name's almost obliterated but I think the manufacturer was Carron or Carron Phoenix or something similar. So if you know the manufacturer it's worth a phone call.0

Do you mean the taps are difficult to turn on and off?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

yep, hard to turn on or off,
we have opened it and there are two small washers which slide left or right.
they slide on this metal thing so not sure what the problem is.
the washers are small and have a spring on the back.0 -
If the washers were worn, the taps would be leaking. Do you live in a hard water area? You may need to remove the limescale from the threaded mechanism in the tap valve, and put some PTFE tape around the threads."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

These are ceramic disc type. Replacement of the complete set is needed and can be found in all good plumber suppliers.0
