A couple of years back, when I split up with my ex, I later found out money from the sale of our house hadn't been given to me (we went just for a quick sale and I hadn't thought there was any profit, after lawyers and other things and moved abroad ASAP after the split) but had gone to the goverment / queen in the form of the QLTR and after finding out about it last year I got a lawyer to claim it back and it was really simple and I was much better off.:A The toughest form of mountain climbing, is getting out of the rut! :A0

Any one had a Midlands Bank Savings account when they were in school? I remember the number of people who got a free bag in school from this account. You deposited a tenner and got a black bag for opening the account. I didn't have one myself but there must be loads of those savings accounts lying dormant too.:j0

I called, I had a livecash account. Shouldn't we be getting iterest on these accounts? I mean the money was always in the bank wasn't it?0

Lloyds took over midland then TSB took over Lloyds so LloydsTSB should still have the details. So the accounts were in someones possession and still 'open'.
I would have thought there would be interest they were children's savings accounts so I would have thought there would be interest at least to a certain age if not longer. I am sure they are obliged to publish / update the information too.
Perhaps requesting the information re interest rate / changes would be worth while.
Do you have any of the original documentation? I would have thought savings accounts given their long term nature have to be treated differently to other types of accounts, such as bank and credit cards, ie documentation must be retained along with historical interest rates.
What did the bank have to say?
PS I would be inclined to see what other folk say and possibly go for a new thread too.0
